Aarohan marks the beginning of TARAgram Yatra 2024, the annual flagship event hosted by Development Alternatives. This inaugural plenary will introduce the Yatris to the transformative journey that Bundelkhand holds for them under the theme ‘Investing in the Local and Green.’ Rooted in the heart of Bundelkhand, the heritage city of Orchha—our karmabhoomi for over 42 years—Aarohan sets the tone for a three-day exploration of sustainability, community resilience, and rural transformation models.

The session will offer a comprehensive overview of the Yatra’s objectives, helping attendees understand how each activity—from immersive yatras to interactive discussions—ties into the broader vision of fostering a sustainable and equitable future. This year, for the first time, the event actively invites yatris from the corporate sector, encouraging partnerships that integrate sustainability into business practices while contributing to the development of local economies.

Bundelkhand, a region celebrated for its cultural heritage and resilient communities, serves as the perfect backdrop for these discussions. As participants gather at the TARAgram Orchha campus, they will explore the pressing need to amplify investments in green and local solutions. These strategies are not only vital for addressing climate change but also for empowering communities to achieve self-reliance through inclusive enterprises and resource efficiency.

Aarohan will unfold with a series of impactful addresses. It will begin with a welcome address by Mr. Shrashtant Patara, CEO of Development Alternatives, who will also give insights on our work around the three global challenges and how the yatra is also taking the Yatris through a journey into the programmes targeted to address those local to global challenges. This would be followed by insights into the TARAgram Yatra's vision from our senior leaders. Introductions to thematic yatras on climate resilience, inclusive enterprises, and resource efficiency will further deepen the understanding of the Yatra's pillars. A keynote address by the chief guest, alongside perspectives from other dignitaries, will underline the urgency of the theme.

By bringing together changemakers from diverse sectors, including grassroots leaders, policymakers, academics, and corporate stakeholders, Aarohan aspires to build a collective narrative of change. This gathering will not only set the stage for an immersive exploration of Bundelkhand but will also inspire participants to champion sustainable practices in their own domains. Aarohan promises to be more than an opening session—it will be the foundation for meaningful collaborations that pave the way for a resilient and sustainable future.
