Ever since its inception in 1982, Development Alternatives (DA) has worked towards sustainable development - for the poor and the marginalised and the regeneration of the environment. The TARAgram YATRA is being organised to deliberate upon germane issues of sustainability and exposure to scalable solutions at the grass roots level.
With a mix of dialogue and field visits, the YATRA provides a platform for exchanging cutting-edge ideas on how to realise a sustainable future. The event provides leads for follow-up on policies and action at the local, national and international levels.
The focus of TARAgram YATRA 2010 is to work “Towards Green Economies – scalable solutions for people and our planet”.
The focus can be achieved by:
- Securing means to achieve sustainable livelihoods and community prosperity
- Reducing carbon footprint
- Enhancing the resilience of ecosystems
